Thanks. The command line version works, until I restart of course.

However, when I try to set the language via System Settings -> Regional
settings (I'm running Kubuntu), it tells me the preferred language is
British English. French was below US English. I tried changing the
order of preference so that the order now reads British English, US
English, Dutch, French and German, just in case the software needed a 
shake up. It's now giving me the Claws Mail menu in German!

Can anyone make sense out of this?
