As you might work out, "Check all folders for new messages" checks known
folders for new messages, but what you are doing is adding new folders. So do
what Colin said, use 'Check for new folders' by right-clicking the top-level
Mailbox folder, or use 'Rebuild folder tree' from the same context menu.
