Hi Tim,

It's not a POP issue, and it's not limited to Gmail. The error messages
are slightly different, but I think it comes back to failure to resolve
the IP addresses until things 'get going' and then it all goes OK
until closing Claws.

Apart from this recent issue POP on Gmail works fine!
