Claws Mail has support for mailing lists built in. The unobtrusive option
'Reply button invokes mailing list reply' is active by default,
(/Configuration/Preferences/Compose/Writing), when it is active you need only
use Reply in the usual way. (If you decide to turn that option off, then use
/Message/Mailing List/Post/... instead.) This option uses the List-Post
header which is standard on at least Mailman mailing lists, which includes
this mailing list. This option means your reply will go to the list only.
There is no reason to change the Mailman options; there is no need for the
From value to hide who is actually sending the message - it's always useful
to see who is sending the message, rather than all messages be seen as coming
from "the list". In this way you also don't need to mis-use and subvert the
Reply-To header just to show who the actual poster is.
You, Jeffrey, might want to run your mailing lists differently, and if I use
any of your mailing lists then I will follow your rules, but here this is how
it is done.
with regards
Paul
