I don't think most who have implemented such systems would even
understand why what they are doing is problematic.

Yes, and simply as an example of how it could be intentionally bad.
Like I have seen stuff like a Windows or Mac support, which doesn't
allow other operating systems to use them.  Not sure it was quite that
exactly, but close.

None of the links you sent worked for me in Lifera.  And...  I can't
see what I've failed to do with my Claws-Mail install that I am not
able to see it as an option in Claws-Mail.
