[Users] gtk3 branch on Debian 12 ("bookworm")

I'm trying to build the gtk3 branch on Debian 12 ("bookworm"), but the
autogen.sh is throwing up:

checking for gpgme-config... no
checking for GPGME - version >= 1.0.0... no

I have the following packages installed:

libgpgme-dev           1.18.0-3+b1
libgpgme11:amd64       1.18.0-3+b1
libgpgmepp-dev:amd64   1.18.0-3+b1
libgpgmepp6:amd64      1.18.0-3+b1
libqgpgme15:amd64      1.18.0-3+b1

Can anyone offer any suggestions to get claws gkt3 branch to build on
Debian 12?
