I wish people would always reply only to the list. For every one of the >50 mailing
lists I'm on, I have a folder. Messages only to the list go right into the
appropriate folder. Messages with me as CC or me as recipient and the list as CC
often go in my general INBOX, after which I need to:

1) Check if an identical post exists in the folder for the particular list

2) If so, delete the one in the INBOX

3) If not, move the one in the INBOX to the appropriate folder

Ellapsed time: 3 minutes *per email*.

The person you're replying to is on the mailing list and sees your reply there, so
what possible gain can there be from also emailing him/her personally?
