Hi,

I have several mail accounts that have gravatars for many years.
For a new account I wanted to create one, but it seems nowadays that
Gravatar is linked to WordPress. 

Well, I tried... Within minutes after I registered a WordPress account I
received the first SPAM. From WordPress, but SPAM nevertheless.

Can I still use Gravatar without WordPress? If not, are there widely
accepted alternatives?
