[Users] how to make the top (most recent) part of inbox show in list pane when first opening Claws Mail?

I have my inbox sorted by date, newest messages at the top. On both
Linux Mint 20 and Windows 10, when I open Claws Mail, the list pane
seems to zero in on very old messages in the lower third of my rather
long inbox. So I have to scroll up to the top to see the most recent
and the newly-arrived messages. I'd prefer that when opening the
application, the top (newest) part of the inbox is shown in the reading
pane, ideally with the highlight/selection on the most recent one.  Can
I accomplish this?
