Are you trying to send the email from your domain, hosted somewhere? Then maybe you must make sure that your DNS records do not present anomalies. For example, if you use cPanel to manage your domains and emails, check the "Email Deliverability" panel. There you can make a check of the DNS records for your email addresses and also repair them.
Not sure if this is the problem though, apologies if I'm missing the point.
