You have read this:
Because this plugin communicates with clamd via a
socket then there are some minimum requirements to
the permissions for your home folder and the
.claws-mail folder provided the clamav-daemon is
configured to communicate via a unix socket. All
users at least need to be given execute permissions
on these folders.
