I am building a version of Claws 3.19 from source for my own use only, which, thanks to
several of the developers, adds improvements to OAuth2 support generally, to both Windows
and Linux versions. These improvements will (I assume) in due course be included in the
downloadable versions of the Windows .exes.

Did you try the version of Claws 4.1 that Jonathan kindly made available, and which (as I
understand it) does have the improved support included?
