Abrolag (related to the email account seemingly Will Godfrey) sent
emails from a non-Google account to recipients with a Google account.

I'm not sure what he actually suspects. IIUC it's either that Google
doesn't accepts emails sent with Claws mail...

...or that Google is the only provider or one of a few providers
enforcing strict dkim and Co. things.

If the former, then unchecking might be appropriate. If the latter,
then he has got just more luck sending emails to recipients with
email accounts from other providers and probably should ask his
provider to fix signature and Co. issues soon. If the latter, the
culprit isn't necessarily Google and the problem likely will affect
non-Google recipients soon, too.

IIUC your issue J. Paul Bissonnette is being unable to use your email
account from Google with Claws. That's another matter.

The two different issues aren't related to each other.

I suspect that a Claws related mailing list provides less good
Google related support than Satan Pichai can provide:
