Ah so; of course. That's always the way it is [these days].
Google is the only tech giant that is of any concern mostly because of
their bait and switch behavior, offering free apps then deleting or
crippling them (Google sites and groups, photo storage, etc.).
As for the rest of their tracking, what I don't know won't hurt me. It
always makes me more loyal to independent projects like Claws. I started
out with a Unix account and learned to use mail, Pine and TRN, even
Procmail to filter incoming email and postprocess with a mail-to-html
webarchiver
in my website filesystem.
