I can set Other Attributes on my contacts in the Address Book, but I can't
search for those attributes. My request is to make the Address Book's search
also search the Other Attributes.

Copy+paste of my use case:
My use case for searching is I have many friends with varied
interests, and if I wish to share knowledge to my friends with whom
I have a shared interest, it'd be useful to look up contacts by
interest.
