Congratulations
You forgot to say that you took a break, allowed your frustration to
settle and then decided on an alternate strategy.

There's a part of the brain which responds to emotion and cuts off
input from the thinking parts, sometimes just when you need it most.
Sayings like "take a deep breath" and "sleep on it" are upheld by
current thinking on brain function.
