It didnt work... When I went to tools > Filter all messages 

I had the email in question highlighted so I could see if it was
deleted or not

as soon as I clicked on filter all messages in this folder, the
blue highlight moved from that email that was supposed to be deleted
and highlighted the very first email in the folder.
