[Users] Local filesystem folders: displayable?

Thanks for the help; File→Add Mailbox→MH does indeed display files.

My program can work with the created subdirectories; it looks like the
created subdirectories can't be edited, which is, I'm guessing, why
that was a concern.

It looks like in addition to the filenames having to be integers, they
have to be positive integers from 1 to 2147483647.

Does Claws/Is Claws able to periodically check for new items in this MH,
much like it does for emails? Or is there a way for an external program
to make Claws check for new items (to be executed shortly after adding
said new items)?
