Hi,

I saw this change on my local src tree as well, and my core.filemode is
true. I did not try to build 3.18.0 version here, so it did not affect
me (no idea whether it would affect me and how, FreeBSD port I am using
to build is a bit different - I am at 4.0.0git145 at the moment).
