In this case Claws has an built-in feature that does what the OP wants,
so your suggestion is not suitable. If Claws did not have the feature
then it would be more suitable, but might still be off-topic especially
if it causes a general discussion of third-party mailing list
management.

This approach is not intended to be totally prescriptive, occasional OT
is accepted provided it doesn't produce a huge thread.
