I believe it will work if you go the "generate ... app passwords"
route. There's a link to that about 1/3 down the main page you
reference above. That (I believe, I don't use verizon/aol) will
generate a unique password that you use with your "less secure" mail
client rather than the one you use for site login. With gmail you
have to toggle a "use less secure app" option too, verizon/aol may
have something like that too.
