This thread has strayed too far off topic.

I am broadly in agreement with some of the points raised by Tom in his long
email.

I can create an account at https://liberapay.com/, but I was/am doubtful that
there is anyone who would want to set up a regular payment to the Claws Mail
project. Also, we already take donations via paypal, the only difference
would be that currently the donator must manually make payments. (Thanks to
all those donators so far!)

There will be another gtk2 release of Claws Mail. There will also be a gtk3
release at the same time.
