I've seen that sort of thing. Google seems to be certificate-happy
sometimes. If you'd rather not have to manually deal with those, you
can open the "Configuration" menu, choose "Edit accounts..." from the
menu, open the Gmail account, go to the SSL tab, and put a check in
the box for "Automatically accept valid SSL certificates" to set
Claws Mail to take care of them invisibly from then on.
