Not related to Fedora. I'm using manjaro/openSuse both xfce ("older
days") and kde.

CM 3.15.x, 3.16... used to crash whenever the global theme (xfce or
kde theme) would be changed if CM was open.

My solution was:

1. Don't change too often the global theme
2. Make sure that CM is closed

I don't know if this was related to the kernels, but I've always staid
with LTS kernels.
