[Users] how to effectively delete messages from Google IMAP (problem and solution)

Hello everybody,
does the Delete function (shortcut: D key) not really delete an e-mail
from the Google server? That's the way it is supposed to work.
And can somebody clarify whether Google actually has the right to keep
deleted e-mails on their servers, for their own purposes?
I would never use that service anyway. In 2018 it was reported that not
only algorithms analyse the e-mails that you write with Gmail, but that
sometimes even human beings might have a look into them:
