Same here with 3.17.5...

Well... close to, because if there is a line with text after the one
containing the "asif" before the space insertion, I'd love to the the "if"
appears at the beginning of that line, instead of a new line being created,
to allow text to continue to flow.
What I have is:
1 - before space insertion
blah blah blah .... asif
some test
2 - after space insertion
blah blah blah .... as
if
some test

and what would be great (at least for me ;)
2 - after space insertion
blah blah blah .... as
if some test
