[WIP] folderview to GtkTreeView

This is Andrej's patch from bug #2371,

rescued and modified so that it builds against current gtk3 git.

It's a work in progress. Mostly works well, but will crash under certain
actions, and not perforem correctly with others.

Here to store in public view until I or someone else fixes its issues.
