Be sure not to just run claws-mail during an already running DE session (that
does in fact work), but as autostart on session login. It most assuredly does
*not* work, at least not everywhere.

I'll spend some time to spawn a few VMs with minimal system setups to reproduce
the issue and will post the results here.
