Not. I removed the offending messages manually.

I went through all kinds of hoops... Built a debugging version of claws,
make stack dumps, ran with and without plugins, etc. It seems to get stuck
somewhere in one of the gtk libraries but no clue.

You should be able to find the messages in the mail archives.
