            Bug ID: 4337
Summary: Mouse cursor/pointer disappears when in compose
                    window.
           Product: Claws Mail
           Version: 3.16.0
          Hardware: PC
                OS: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P3
         Component: UI/Compose Window
          Assignee: users at lists.claws-mail.org
          Reporter: carlo at alinoe.com

I installed ClawsMail freshly on a new machine. It is basically impossible to
select text or paste text because as soon as I enter the compose window with my
mouse, the mouse pointer disappears.

I have no other applications that do this (or ever had as far as I remember).
This behavior is exclusive to ClawsMail.

To be more exact: when opening the Compose Window it is empty (no text) and my
mouse is outside it and shows as its normal self (an arrow). When I enter the
window the mouse pointer change to a <--> left right error on the edge of the
window (for resizing), a vertical bar with two little horizontal bars on the
ends when hovering over a text input field and an arrow anywhere else.

When I left-click such input field - the mouse stays as vertical bar, but also
a real (blinking) cursor appears at the spot where I can type. So far so good.

Then, when I type the first character the mouse pointer disappears. If I do
this in -say- the Subject field then moving the mouse ever so slightly brings
back the mouse pointer (still showing as vertical bar inside any input field
and arrow outside of them). This everything OK so far.

However, if I click on the large array for the body of the email and type one
character there - then the mouse not only disappears but STAYS hidden even if I
move the mouse. This is ONLY the case inside this large area. I can still move
the mouse to other input fields (like the Subject line, or the To: field) or
anywhere else in the Composer window and the mouse behaves normally. But
whenever I return to the large input field for the body of the message and
there is already any text there - then the mouse becomes totally invisible.

If I right-click in this area, a pop-up appears and the mouse shows as arrow.
If next I right-click again, outside of the pop-up, but inside the large input
area, then the mouse is visible again as vertical bar (and the pop up
disappears). It stays that way (functional) until I CHANGE the text in the
large window.

Thus summary/conclusion:

Only in the input field for the body of the mail, the mouse becomes invisible
and stays invisible as soon as the keyboard is being used (while inside this
input area) even when moved, even when moved outside (becoming visible) and
then being moved back into the area. Even pressing a shift key or arrow key
makes it disappear; but -say- pasting something does not.
