Hi,

alternatively build your own Claws package. I'm doing it for 16.04, by
_not_ using the Debian/Ubuntu source file. You could do it that way, by
editing the "control" and "rules" files, replacing the source code by
the current source code from upstream and then building it the
Ubuntu/Debian way. Instead I prefer to build a single package for
everything by using "checkinstall" as a simple replacement for "make
install" as described by my reply to ubuntu-users, see
