FWIW, you're not going mad. When I first saw the bug report I looked at
it and view-source revealed the extra text that you indicated. I use FF
and it was able to render the page normally, so except for your report
I would never have noticed.

I just looked again and the extraneous text has now disappeared, so I
suspect something changed in the meantime.
