True, but if you look at other sources of printed text, for example
"books", you will find that the norm is relatively short lines of text.
When did you last see a book whose text was printed along the
long edge of a page? Normally if a very wide space has to have
text in it, the text will be set in columns.
I'm sure I've read that experiments have shown that there's an
ideal line length for reading.
