There are cases that crating mailing lists are very overkill: I was in
the organization of a conference here, in financial team. We needed to
contact companies for sponsorship and to quote some services. All
emails we sent went for 3 people: 2 in the team and the company. And
several times someone hit "Reply" instead of "Reply to All"...

I can give several other examples, but there's no need for that. "Reply
to All" is useful but not for all threads.

I also like how Claws work with mailing lists, it is very helpful. Btw,
Ralf Mardorf your email was marked as $Phishing by Gmail, I saw it by
accident in my SPAM folder.
