[Users] Problem with Spell Checker

Under <Configuration> / <Preferences> / <Spell Checking>, I have set
the default dictionary to "en-US". Now, when I attempt to compose a
message, this error message pops up:
The spell checker could not change dictionary.
Couldn't initialize None dictionary:
(null)
The "Spell Checker" appears to be working correctly, however.
I am just trying to figure out what is happening here and why.
