[Users] strange behavior with "AOL" account

For years I've used this account. Originally a "netscape" address, then
AOL, and now… Verizon?

Anyway, claws (Ubuntu LTS 18.03) Claws Mail version 3.16.0, logs in but
shows no new emails. This is unusual because it is the address
registered with FB and the Twit. So, unwanted emails to delete every
day.

Logging in via the web, I see there are new messages. So something is
broken. Probably a non-rfc-compliant email server. But anyway…

Any help or advice appreciated.

PS I've had to send this via a browser as the GMAIL GSMTP fails now. Also a
new issue for me. WTF???
