Go to Configuration->Preferences, in the dialog choose Summaries (under
Display).  The second control in "Message List" (the second box of controls) is
a button which allows you to configure the message selected when you enter a
folder.

If this solves your issue, please close the ticket as "invalid", otherwise
please give more details about how the configuration and behavior differ from
your expectations.
