Thanks Jim! That's exactly an answer which gives good info.

I was looking for something similar to your example 3 but for
manipulating whole threads based on the newest message in the thread
instead of individual messages. Do you think that's possible
considering that Gmail always puts what one sends in "Sent mail" and
thus splits the thread (which needs additional manual or automated
processing etc)?

Also how do you select messages you have (not) replied to? By using
'replied' in CM rules or something else?
