Well, I can't balme you for beeing in favour of DuckDuckGo and/or
disabling JavaScript, since one of the browsers I'm using is Icecat and
as for the happy medium, I tend to make https://www.startpage.com/ my
default search engine. However, if you don't care regarding privacy and
security and you should use plain Google, you would be surprised how
good the hits are. One cannot have everything ;).
