Thanks for doing this, it's an effort but it's always better like this
if you cannot afford waiting for the next official package from your
distro.

I'm not promising anything, but I'll think more about it and discuss w/
the dev team. To be honest, I have a bunch of global templates that I
use just for new composing. And what I do is: compose new, apply
template (replace), full stop. I don't see much complication here.
