Well, since you're not hitting the limit anymore when it's set to 1250 and
you're just getting 1016, it's not a surprise that setting it to 1500 doesn't
change anything.

The plugin is ignoring contacts without an email address - that's the
difference between the number of received items (1016) and the number of
entries added (957). Are you missing particular contacts that have an email
address?

You can also start claws mail with the "--debug" switch. That that case more
info is printed to the console about what the plugin is doing.
