            Bug ID: 3913
Summary: Status set to read upon message reception
    Classification: Unclassified
           Product: Claws Mail
           Version: 3.14.1
          Hardware: PC
                OS: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P3
         Component: Other
          Assignee: users at lists.claws-mail.org
          Reporter: jerome at jolimont.fr

Sometimes, upon message reception, claws-mail automatically marks the new
message as read.

So if I'm away from keyboard, not watching the screen, I don't get the
notification and I don't notice the new message either when I come back because
it is marked as read.

As a consequence, I miss messages or notice them a while after.

Unfortunately, I can't figure out what triggers this so I can't reproduce
reliably, but it happens pretty often. I think I've been seeing this for a few
months now.

I can't tell if claws-mail just marks it as read or if it selects the message
and marks it as read as a consequence. When I notice it, it is already too late
to tell.

Anyone else seeing this?

Anything I could check?

I'm using Debian Stretch version. And IMAP, if that matters.

Thanks.
