The task I had on my list back in 2011 was the GtkStyle -> GtkStyleContext
port.

Next to the Gtk documentation I would recommend looking at libreoffice gtk3
code[0] in general and especially for the gtk style context, the native widget
code[1].

Licensing - taking code - should be no problem since LO uses some weak
licensing. Ok to reuse in GPL code.
