Try adding this to ~/.bashrc
# Set GPG TTY
export GPG_TTY=/dev/pts/1

Sometimes below is also necessary but try above first:
#$(tty)
# Refresh gpg-agent tty in case user switches into an X session
gpg-connect-agent updatestartuptty /bye >/dev/null
