I think I now understand what's going on. The messages that get sent to
two destinations have had a Reply-To header added by the poster.
Apparently, all the messages I have replied to on that list since I
started using claws were sent by people who did that. But when I reply
to 'ordinary' messages, such as my own posts to that list, they go only
to the list. So I can stop worrying.
I don't remember this behaviour from either Evolution or Thunderbird,
which is why I was confused. I'll check Thunderbird tomorrow, but I no
longer use Evolution.

Steve Litt, thanks for the exhortation to people to get back to the
topic.
Ralf and anybody in that conversation, I apologize but I haven't read
any of those messages.
