This bug was filed against 3.9.3 and is still (or again) present for me in
3.14.0:

I added a subscription to my google private calendar ICS URL after turning SSL
certificate verification off.
When loading the calendar, I get the windows message "The application stopped
working".

Works OK in 3.11 under linux
