Debian GNU/Linux 8.3 (jessie), xfce4 4.10.1, bash 4.3-11+b1. The
shortcut works nicely. Thank you.
For those installations where it does not work, try installing
gucharmap (or equivalent). I find I can copy the target character (once
I've found it) and paste it into my program.
