[Users] SSL certificate warnings keep appearing despite option to accept checked

Just all of a sudden, in the last couple of days, I have warnings 4 or
5 times a day.

In Accounts > SSL the option to automatically accept certificates is
checked. Can this indicate a problem with my mail server?
