Yes, that is exactly what I had done originally, and it worked fine. My request of a different background color was relative exactly to this scenario (i.e display headers *in* message view), which is the preferred option.

When I was saying that not all the headers are displayed, it was about another scenario: display header pane *above* message view (which was suggested by another user)
