More then one person in different cases is affected by this bug. But currently
claws don't give enough debug information for a deeper analysis. Because of
that I opened a feature request ("More detailed debug output in folderview.c"),
too.

Currently I am using Claws 3.14 on a Siduction GNU/Linux (which is Debian
unstable).
But this problem happend always in Claws 3.9 (Ubuntu Trusty) and 3.13.

Sometimes (but not exact reproducable) it forget the read status of messages:
When I start claws, it shows me INBOX with 2 unread meassages in
the left folder tree. But when I click on INBOX to show the messages in
it some of the older messages in it (sometimes all) turn to unread.
Sometimes the folder is 100% read. But clicking on it a bunch of mails it it
turn unread.

This problem comes from time to time but not so often. I am not able to
reproduce it for sure. That is why I am not sure what causes that problem.

I tried to delete all dot-files and rebuild the tree. The problem is still
there.

My special use scenario:
I use the same Claws "instance" on two machines! This means I sync the
~/.claws-box and ~/.claws-mail folders between two machines. The last
years I used the Ubuntu Trusty claws version (quite old) for that.
I had the same problems there.
I don't use them as the same time! I switch between a desktop pc and a
laptop. When switching I start a sync process (with Unison) by myself.
This work really well. But only the thing with unread messages.
You can see in the mailinglist thread (see link above) that I checked that sync
process.
It is working and not the root of the problem. Other person describe similar
problems
in different sceniarios.

This is the current debug output when clicking on the folder "notify". You can
see there is not enough information. It would be the best if you could modfiy
claws that it can give a better debug output. I would provide it then here. You
can open a seperate git-branch if you want. I will use it.
